San Jacinto City Manager Loses 2nd Child To Same Highway 7 Years Apart

SAN JACINTO (CBSLA.com) — Officials say a private vigil is planned Sunday for the 20-year-old son of San Jacinto City Manager Tim Hults who was killed in a crash on High 79 early Saturday — the same stretch of road that claimed his brother’s life seven years ago.

Brandon Hults, 20, was traveling south at about 2 a.m. when he lost control of his sedan. His vehicle struck a guard rail.

Hults was partially ejected and died at the scene, Riverside County Coroner’s officials said. His two passengers escaped injury.

Tim Hults told City News Service his son crashed on the same highway where his 16-year-old brother Brian died in a car accident in May 2006.

“I don’t think Brandon ever got over that,” Tim Hults said.

His father said Brandon lived with his girlfriend in a Hemet apartment and worked for the Valleywide Recreation Park District as a maintenance worker. He said his son was an avid soccer player since he was 5-years-old as well as “a free spirit … who loved life.”

Brandon is survived by his sisters Miranda, 22, and Haley, 17, and his mother, Tamara.

Mavericks holen neuen Manager

Die Dallas Mavericks haben nach dem erneut nicht optimal gelaufenen Transfer-Sommer in Folge personelle Konsequenzen gezogen.

Dirk Nowitzkis Team verpflichtete Gersson Rosas als General Manager. Die Position war seit dem Abschied von Trainerlegende Don Nelson im Jahr 2005 nicht mehr besetzt gewesen.

Nelson Sohn Donnie hatte als Teampräsident gemeinsam mit Eigentümer Mark Cuban die Verantwortung.

Rosas kommt von den Houston Rockets. Der Kolumbianer war dort innerhalb von neun Jahren vom Praktikanten zu einem wichtigen Teil des Managements aufgestiegen.

Die Rockets haben in den vergangenen Jahren in der Kaderplanung einen fantastischen Job gemacht.

Trotz der Verpflichtungen von Stars wie James Harden und Mavs-Wunschkandidat Dwight Howard blieben sie unter der Gehaltsobergrenze und entwickelten gleichzeitig junge Talente wie Chandler Parsons.

"Ich habe zu Donnie gesagt, wir müssen als Team cleverer werden. Wir sind stolz darauf, alle Ressourcen auszuschöpfen. Ich wollte den besten Mann dafür, und Donnie kam mit Gerssons Name zurück", sagte Cuban.
