Lisa Dobriskey is out of next month's World Championships in Moscow with a leg injury.

The 29-year-old, who was silver medallist in the 1,500 metres at the 2009 championships in Berlin, revealed her season was over because of the injury she suffered at the British trials meeting on Sunday.

Dobriskey has suffered a long list of injury problems over the last 18 months, having a disturbed preparation for London 2012, where she finished a distant 10th in the final behind Turkey's Asli Cakir Alptekin.

She pulled up during Sunday's final in Birmingham and revealed on Twitter on Monday morning that the injury was more serious than first thought.

"Sadly, the scan picked up a grade three tear so I have no choice but to end my season here," Dobriskey said.

"It is incredibly unfortunate circumstances," UK Athletics performance director Neil Black said after the race. "I think Lisa was spiked and there was a collision."
