I’m glad to see that Hessians are making a statement in today’s world, especially the skateboarding world.  It’s also great to see those who aren’t really Hessian at all broaden their horizons by taking part in Hessian wear and Hessian lifestyle.  It makes for a great mix of cultures.

Legendary skater Steve Caballero (Half Cabs, anyone?) takes a tour of the Metallica HQ with the band’s singer, James Hetfield. Lakers wollen Anthony oder James

Die Los Angeles Lakers aus der NBA planen offenbar den ganz großen Angriff auf dem Spielermarkt.

Nach Informationen des TV-Senders "ESPN" will der 16-malige Meister im kommenden Jahr die Superstar LeBron James oder Carmelo Anthony verpflichten. Dies sei aus Vereinskreisen durchgesickert.

"Derzeit ist es nur Wunschdenken", zitiert "ESPN" eine nicht genannte Quelle aus der Liga: "Derzeit wünschen sich die Teams mehr, als LeBron will."

James, der in den beiden vergangenen Spielzeiten jeweils als wertvollster Spieler (MVP) mit Miami Heat Champion geworden war, beschäftigt sich angeblich überhaupt noch nicht mit der Entscheidung über seine Zukunft.

James ist im nächsten Sommer das begehrteste Ziel unter vielen großen Namen. Auch seine Teamkollegen Dwyane Wade und Chris Bosh sowie Anthony (New York Knicks) könnten über Ausstiegsklauseln frei werden.

Dirk Nowitzkis Vertrag bei den Dallas Mavericks läuft 2014 aus, ebenso der von Lakers-Superstar Kobe Bryant.

Die "Black Mamba" - mit 30 Millionen Dollar Gehalt in der kommenden Saison der Top-Verdiener der NBA - erholt sich von einem Achillessehnenriss, hat aber angekündigt, noch zwei bis drei Jahre spielen zu wollen.

Womöglich muss er seine Gehaltsvorstellungen einschränken, wenn die Lakers einen weiteren Topmann verpflichten wollen.

Alastair Cook denies England are too reliant on 'world class' James Anderson

Alastair Cook hailed the ‘outstanding, world class’ Jimmy Anderson after he bowled England to victory at Trent Bridge - and then insisted his side is not over-reliant on the leader of their attack.

The Lancashire paceman took five wickets in the second innings to go with his ‘five-fer’ in Australia’s first knock as the hosts sealed a dramatic win by just 14 runs.

Anderson bowled 13 successive overs in searing heat during the morning session on day five in Nottingham, and his captain was hugely appreciative of his efforts.

Cook said: "Jimmy was outstanding. He always wants one more over - I think 13 was probably quite a lot in that first hour!”

But Cook denied his side was too reliant on their pace spearhead.

“No, not at all,” he added. “He's a world-class bowler and you sometimes use him in these situations when you know there's a timeframe. He had an amazing rhythm in this game.

"But [Stuart] Broad and [Steven] Finn have done outstandingly well for us over a huge amount of time, but it just happened to be Jimmy's day and Jimmy's game. Sometimes it happens like that."
